J&H Photography has more than 15 years of experience in travel photography, documentary photography, photojournalism, and professional printmaking. After working in newspaper photography for 7 years, Jon transitioned to freelance to focus on family, music, travel, and writing. As a professional photojournalist, Jon covered events ranging from the NCAA National Championship to children living off of the garbage dump in rural Nicaragua. Jon’s work has been awarded numerous awards from the Hearst Journalism Awards, College Photographer of the Year, the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar, and various state press associations. A graduate of the William Allen White journalism school at KU in Lawrence, KS, Jon is well-trained in multimedia production, field sound recording, video production, and printmaking. In addition to documentary photography and photojournalism, Jon enjoys travel and travel photography, specializing in the Pacific Northwest and Southeastern US coast.
